Job Duties and Responsibilities:

In order to be successful in a pharmacy job, you’ll need to show up every day on time and ready to work. Your responsibilities will be similar at most pharmacies, but your daily tasks may differ depending on whether you work at a retail pharmacy store or in a hospital or clinic setting. Some of the general duties in the pharmacy industry include

  • Maintaining patient records
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Assisting patients with filling prescriptions
  • Dispensing medications
  • Ordering medications from wholesalers or manufacturers
  • Providing information about medications to patients and health care providers

Qualification and Experience:

Must have completed graduation from a reputed university, having knowledge about different pharmaceutical medicines. Additionally, must possess 2-3 years of experience in a pharmacy store and/or hospital. Some companies also require candidates to go through training courses for the first six months. In order to become a successful Pharmacist in India, it is necessary that you must gain practical experience through workplace training.

Salary and Benefits:

Depending on where you work, your salary will vary. However, as a general rule of thumb, new graduates can expect to earn between ₹30,000 and ₹35,000 monthly in their first job. Benefits vary by employer but typically include health insurance, vacation time and sick leave.
