    Supreme Court of India is the most superior judicial institution of India. It is the highest forum of justice for appellants according to the Constitution of India. It works as the custodian of Indian Constitution. The institution has 33 judges and one Chief Justice who have exclusive judicial powers.     What is number of judges in Supreme Court all over India?

    Before 2019, the number of Supreme Court judges was 30 excluding The Chief Justice. However, according to the Number of Judges Amendment Bill 2019, the number has been increased to 33.

    What is the Eligibility Criteria for Supreme Court?

    The foremost criteria is the nationality of the candidate. Must be Indian citizen. Next criteria for Supreme Court of India recruitment is qualification; each candidate must have any of the B.SC, B.Tech, M.SC, or B.E degree from a recognized University. The age ranges between 40 to 50 years.



    How to Get a Law Clerk Job?

    The first phase in getting a judicial clerk job is to pass the written exam. The exam consists of two sections. First section contains General Knowledge and English questions, it has 50 marks. The second section contains questions about Indian Penal Code, Indian Constitution, Criminal and Civil Procedure Code; this section has 100 marks. Second phase is personal interview. Following are the important steps you need to follow.

    Phase 1 – Written Exam:

    • To be eligible to appear in the written exam, you must have a LLB degree from a law school recognized by Indian Bar Council.
    • If you are in the last year of your LLB or law graduation, you can apply for the exam.
    • You should have hands on basic computer skills, operating systems and search engines.
    • The exam has total 150 marks, one mark of each correct answer and 0.25 negative marking for wrong answer.
    • Minimum pass marks are 90 (60%).

    Phase 2 – Personal Interview

    The successful candidates in the written exam are shortlisted and then called for personal interview. A panel of judges conducts the interview with each candidate. The interview session consists of 30 total marks with minimum 15 marks required for qualifying. Successful candidates are appointed as Law Clerk who work under the current judges of the Supreme Court.

    How to become a Supreme Court Stenographer?

    For a Supreme Court Steno Typist or Stenographer job, you need a recognized degree and professional skills in Shorthand typing in English. You must have a typing speed of 110 words per minute. In addition, you need to have basic computer knowledge and a typing speed of 40 words per minute. Having experience in the same industry is a plus point.
